Loving Father, we pray for our community of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
We are reminded of our human frailty in times like this when we are confronted with a global pandemic. We pray for people who have become sick with COVID-19 or other serious illnesses. We pray for those who have lost loved ones recently. We pray for people who are living under financial stress. We pray for those who are living under the increased anxiety that our community is feeling at the moment.
We recognize that these stresses are real but you are stronger. So, we look to you as the source of our peace and provision.
Jesus we are reminded of your words, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So, don’t be troubled or afraid.” So, we choose to receive your gift of peace. We choose to focus our attention on you because you are a God of great strength, peace and unfailing love.
Help us, as we navigate the coming days and weeks. Help us, as Christ followers, to be distributers of your love and peace to the people we meet.
We pray these things in your name. Amen.
